40 Spline Hero transfer case
|
Note: Early versions of the Hero transfer case used threaded shafts and large nuts to hold on yokes or flanges. On these cases, the threaded portion of the shaft needs to be shortened by about 3/8 inch, and the nut machined down by about 1/4 inch to allow for better clearance of the u-joint body and driveshaft articulation. Later transfer case models changed to a bolt and washer design that does not have clearance issues.
